These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the EduFinder by Waystar website and services ("EduFinder", "we", "us"), operated by Waystar Learning, Inc., a Delaware corporation. By accessing or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
The Service
EduFinder offers AI-assisted college admissions guidance tools for students, including practice tests, college matching, admission-chance insight, course and extracurricular planning, essay brainstorming, and financial-aid forms strategy, as well as AI-assisted grading, curriculum-planning, and recommendation-letter tools for teachers, and caseload and school-profile documents for counselors. Our tools are educational and informational only. They are not professional legal, financial, tax, or admissions advice, and they do not guarantee any particular admission, score, scholarship, or financial-aid outcome. Our financial-aid tool helps you understand and prepare forms; we never complete or file any form for you, and we never ask for your FSA ID, Social Security number, or account numbers.
Accounts and Eligibility
To use most features you create an account. You agree to provide accurate information, to keep your login credentials secure, and to be responsible for activity under your account. Each account is for one person: please do not share your sign-in with anyone else, though a parent or guardian may help you with your own account. Sharing what you make is different, and What You Make Is Yours below says how. If you are a minor, you should use the service with the involvement of a parent or guardian. To buy a membership you must be old enough to enter into this agreement where you live, or have your parent or guardian do it for you, and you must be authorized to use the payment method you enter.
Membership, Billing and Cancellation
An EduFinder account is free, and so are the record you keep in it and your first run of every tool. The Pro Membership is a recurring monthly subscription on your account. A membership runs every tool without limit and keeps every loop going: run it again, update what it made, and pick up where it left off. One membership runs every EduFinder tool on your own account without limit, whichever kind of account it is. Without limit means ordinary use: unusually heavy use pauses for a short while and then resumes on its own, so one account cannot crowd out everyone else's. There is no trial period: the free parts of EduFinder never run out on a date and never turn into a paid membership on their own. Payment availability may be limited in some regions.
Your membership renews automatically each month at $39 per month (USD) plus any sales tax your address requires, until you cancel. The charge falls on the same date each month, and any tax that applies is shown before you confirm. You enter your payment details with a PCI-compliant payment processor, which holds them for us; your card details are never stored on our servers. If we change the price, we will email the address on your account at least 30 days before the new price applies to you.
Cancel anytime. Your membership stays active until the end of the month you paid for, and no refunds are issued for the days that remain. Cancelling is something you do yourself, under "Manage Membership" in your account. If a payment fails, the processor retries your card. Your membership keeps working for two days after the period you paid for; after that, your account returns to the free plan while the retries continue, with its record and its free runs intact, and updating your card under "Manage Membership" starts the membership again. If the retries do not succeed, the membership ends. Throughout, everything you already made stays yours to read, export, print, and delete.
These parts of EduFinder never need a membership:
- Everything you keep here saves without a membership: your profile, college list and deadlines, essays, notebook, classes, grading jobs and letter requests.
- The first run of every tool costs nothing, once for the life of the account: every student service, every educator tool, and twelve requirement lookups on your college list.
- Five messages a week with Leonardo, EduFinder's AI, on whichever hub you are standing in; every day, and in your Team room, is part of the membership.
- One full SAT practice test a month, with its score, every explanation, and the review of any test you already started.
- Your Team stays open: links, messages and rooms never need a membership, and a student answering a teacher's link never pays.
- Everything you already made stays yours to read, export and print, membership or not.
- Every embedded sample, the three-question SAT demo and the Learning guides are open with no membership, and the guides with no account at all.
Inviting a friend. Your membership page offers an invite link. When someone creates a free EduFinder account through that link and then finishes setting up, by completing the basics of their profile or running any tool for the first time, you and they each receive one more free run of every tool, added to the free runs every account already has. An inviting account can receive that reward up to five times; the person who joined always receives theirs. We withhold or remove rewards earned by inviting yourself, by accounts created to collect rewards, or by any other misuse, and we may change or end invite rewards at any time.
Your Content
You keep whatever ownership you have in the information you submit, such as your answers, your documents and drafts, and the work you upload for grading. You grant us the permission needed to process it in order to operate the service and produce your results, and you confirm you have the right to give us that permission.
What You Make Is Yours
The plans, lists, reports, letters, profiles, curricula, rubrics, grades, comments, summaries, and other results the service produces for your account are yours. As between you and us, you own them, and we assign to you any rights we have in them. You may use, copy, edit, print, publish, send, and share them for any lawful purpose, including in your professional and paid work, and you may put your own name on them without crediting EduFinder. For example:
- A counselor may publish a school profile on the school's website, upload it to the Common App and other application platforms, send it to colleges, and give the same copy to every counselor at the school.
- A teacher may share a curriculum, rubric, or assessment with their department, school, or district, adapt it with colleagues, post it to a class website or learning platform, and hand it to students and families.
- A teacher or counselor may send a recommendation letter they drafted here to colleges, scholarship programs, and application platforms under their own name, and give students the grades, comments, summaries, and packets they prepared for them.
- A student or parent may share a plan, college list, report, or feedback with anyone they choose, such as family, teachers, counselors, and tutors, and may post their own results publicly.
Your rights cover what the service wrote for you. They do not cover material that belongs to someone else, such as a passage from a textbook, a student's own words, or text quoted from a source a result cites; that material stays subject to its owner's rights. The service can produce similar results for other people, and your rights do not reach theirs.
Read a result before you publish or send it, because you are responsible for what you share. When a result includes personal information about a student or anyone else, share it only as your school's policies and the law allow.
Our Materials
The website and the service itself, including our software, designs, templates, Learning guides, sample documents, practice-test questions and answer explanations, and the EduFinder and Waystar Learning names, logos, and mascot, are owned by us and our licensors. You are welcome to link to any public page, and where a result is laid out on one of our templates, you may use that layout as part of the result. You may print a Learning guide or a sample, or share its link, with your students, families, and colleagues, as long as our name stays on it; please do not copy one onto another website or sell it. Practice-test questions and explanations are for your own study: you may print or save your review and show it to the people helping you prepare, such as a parent, teacher, or tutor, but please do not publish, sell, or hand out copies of the questions. Using our names or logos in a way that suggests we endorse you or your work needs our written permission.
Acceptable Use
When using EduFinder, you agree not to:
- Sell, rent, or sublicense access to the service or to your account.
- Copy, scrape, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the underlying system or models, or use automated tools to collect results or content in bulk, including to build or train a product that competes with EduFinder.
- Publish, sell, or hand out copies of our materials beyond what these Terms allow.
- Misuse, overload, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service.
- Upload or share another person's personal information unless you have the right to do so.
- Use the service, or anything it produces, for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
AI-Generated Results
Results are produced with the help of AI and may contain errors, omissions, or out-of-date information. Leonardo is EduFinder's AI. It is not a person, a teacher, a school counselor, or a parent, and what it says in a conversation, in a Team room, or on a page it writes for you is an AI-generated result like any other. When an educator sends a document Leonardo helped draft under their own name, the educator reviews it and is responsible for it. Whether to mention that Leonardo helped is up to you, unless your school or the people you send a document to ask you to say so. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any result before relying on it, especially for admissions and financial-aid decisions. Results are guidance, not a guarantee.
Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any result will meet your expectations.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, EduFinder and Waystar Learning will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the membership fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the service in a way that may cause harm or legal exposure to us or to others. If your account ends, what you already exported or shared stays yours.
Changes to the Service and These Terms
We may change, add, or remove features, and we may update these Terms from time to time. When we update the Terms, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above. By continuing to use the service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and we agree that the state and federal courts located in Delaware are the venue for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service.
